art, using examples from the collection of the Museum to illustrate the points she made. These talks were highly successful and it is planned to continue them on an expanded basis during 1959-60.
EXHIBITIONS
There were eleven exhibitions during the course of the year. In the summer of 1958, “Modern German Sculpture, Painting, and Industrial Art,” largely from the Museum’s own collection, was shown. The first major exhibition of the fall term was entitled “Lyonel Feininger: Paintings of Harbors, Ships, and the Sea,” containing material borrowed from many different public and private collections. It was followed by an exhibition in honor of the one hundredth anniversary of the birth of the Berlin painter Lovis Corinth. The first term concluded with a print exhibition, “Albrecht Dürer, Masterpieces of Graphic Art,” arranged especially for students of Fine Arts studying graphic art as well as for students of German concerned with the cultural climate of the late fifteenth and early sixteenth centuries in Germany.
The second term opened with an exhibition of modern German art. This was followed by a display of Baroque drawings circulated by the American Federation of Arts under the name “Baroque Illusion” and booked by the Museum because of the number of courses on the Baroque offered by the Department of Fine Arts. Early in the spring the Cambridge Art Association held its annual exhibition at the Museum.
Later in the spring term there were two exhibitions aimed specifically at courses in Fine Arts and in the Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures. The first, examples of late eighteenth- and nineteenth-century prints and drawings, was arranged for the benefit of German 113, a course on Schiller, and German 137, German lyric poetry and prose of the nineteenth century. The second of these purely didactic exhibitions was entitled “Aspects of Art Nouveau.” The theme and the material were selected by students taking Fine Arts 201, the course dealing with art museum problems and training.
BUSCH-REISINGER MUSEUM
Immediately after Commencement two summer exhibitions were installed: “Modern German Painting and Sculpture” and “Old Masters and Modern Art from the Collection of Mr. and Mrs. Edward M. M. Warburg.” Both of these exhibitions will extend into the next academic year.
LOANS
During the year the Museum borrowed a total of 513 objects, the great majority of them for our temporary exhibition program.
PUBLICATIONS
The Museum produced two illustrated catalogues in connection with the Feininger and Corinth exhibitions.
CONCLUSION
The year has been an active and successful one, in large measure because of the improved personnel situation on both the building and administrative sides. In looking back over the past twelve months, one realizes increasingly how dependent the Museum has become on current gifts. As long as such gifts are forthcoming, the institution can continue to develop. In the future, however, additional endowment will become more and more of a necessity if growth is to be maintained.

Conclusion:
The overall theme of the document is to highlight the museum's successful exhibitions, educational initiatives, and growth during the academic year.
The image shows two pages from a printed booklet or report, titled "BUSCH-REISINGER MUSEUM." The content on these pages summarizes the museum's activities and exhibitions.
The left page discusses exhibitions held during the year, mentioning eleven exhibitions in total. It details major exhibitions, including "Modern German Sculpture, Painting, and Industrial Art" from the summer of 1958, a fall exhibition titled "Lyonel Feininger: Paintings of Harbors, Ships, and the Sea," and a print exhibition on Albrecht Dürer called "Masterpieces of Graphic Art." It also highlights exhibitions focused on modern German art and Baroque drawings. Additionally, two exhibitions aimed at Fine Arts and Germanic languages and literature courses are described, including a didactic exhibition titled "Aspects of Art Nouveau."
The right page covers museum activities involving two summer exhibitions named "Modern German Painting and Sculpture" and "Old Masters and Modern Art," part of the Warburg collection. It also mentions that the museum borrowed 513 objects for temporary exhibitions and produced two illustrated catalogs connected to the Feininger and Corinth exhibitions. The conclusion, written by Charles L. Kuhn, the curator, reflects on the successful year for the museum, emphasizing the importance of endowment growth for future development.
Pages are numbered 6 (left) and 7 (right).
This image shows two pages of a written document. The document seems to be an annual report or an information booklet for the Busch-Reisinger Museum, as indicated by the heading at the top of each page. Both pages are part of a single section that appears to end on the right page.
The left page (labelled page 6 at the bottom) provides details under the subtitles "Exhibitions" and a part of the next section. It explains the various exhibitions that took place at the museum, mentioning examples like "Modern German Sculpture, Painting, and Industrial Art," and talks about the thematic exhibitions, loans of artworks from private collections, and presentations connected to academic courses.
The right page (labelled page 7 at the bottom) continues with the section that most likely started on the left page under the subtitle "Busch-Reisinger Museum." It concludes the section mentioning two summer exhibitions, details on the grand total of objects loaned by the museum, and the publications produced by the museum that year. At the end, under "Conclusion," a summary of the year's activities is provided and reflects on the museum's developments and future needs. The section concludes with the name "Charles L. Kuhn, Curator," presumably the author of the report.
The pages are printed with black text on white paper, and the text is fully justified, which is typical for formal documents. The pages show some signs of age, such as slight discoloration around the edges.
