BUSCH-REISINGER MUSEUM
OF GERMANIC CULTURE
HARVARD UNIVERSITY, CAMBRIDGE 38, MASSACHUSETTS
January 4, 1960
Mr. Max L. Teich
Santa Barbara, California
Dear Mr. Teich:
Last year, as a result of your generous support of the Busch-Reisinger Museum Association, we were able to purchase a number of important paintings, ranging in date from the fifteenth to the eighteenth century. At the same time, our modern collections continue to grow, principally through gifts of paintings, drawings, sculpture, and prints from friends who know our interest in the art of this century.
You are perhaps aware that our income from endowment can do little more than maintain the building and to the generosity of our friends, most particularly the members of the Busch-Reisinger Association, that we owe the enrichment of our holdings. In addition to acquisition funds, too, help us to meet the increased teaching and research needs of other University departments and the artistic community. The exhibition of works of art, special exhibitions, guided tours, and other activities are some of the ways in which this is accomplished.
In the past your membership in the Association has been most helpful and encouraging to us. May we count on you again for 1960?
Sincerely yours,
Charles L. Kuhn
Curator
